About Ashby Klenk

Ashby’s training in Chinese & Japanese healing arts began with taiji, 25 years ago. Since then, he has become a dedicated lifelong student & practitioner of Daoism & the life nourishing arts of Qigong, Taijiquan, Baguazhang, Chinese Medicine & Japanese Bodywork (Shiatsu). He also loves getting out into nature, going for walks, reading, cooking, & spending time with animals. Lastly, he is just beginning the study of a classical zen flute known as the Shakuhachi.

Ashby’s Credentials

  • Trained in Classical Chinese Medicine & certified in it’s application through a traditional style of Japanese bodywork called Zen Shiatsu, from Charles River Institute of Healing & Inner Arts in Cambridge, MA.
  • Recognized by the American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA) as a certified practitioner of Asian Bodywork Therapy (ABT).
  • A Licensed massage therapist in the state of Oregon. (#27360)
  • An instructor in the Hunyuan system of Qigong & Taijiquan, & an indoor student of Matthew Sieradski within the Hunyuan Taijiquan lineage. This system has an emphasis on life nourishing practices, & is composed of several forms of qigong & taiji, which teach one how to cultivate qi (life force energies) in various ways.

In addition he is:

  • a teaching assistant, working towards certification in a branch of Biodynamic Cranial Sacral Therapy called Sacred Touch.
  • Working towards certification in a unique method of Asian Bodywork Therapy called Jin Shin Do Bodymind Acupressure.
